We are Villages residents who enjoy dancing. Some have danced for years, some are learning for the first time. The Village Dancers meet weekly. Each month we learn a new choreography. For example, in one month, we may learn a sassy jazz routine and then in the following month, we may learn a Latin or Broadway piece. By changing the dance style each month - it keeps it fresh and fun. It gives the members opportunities to experience different music and movements. Dance is a conversation between the body and the soul. Bernice (director and choreographer) teaches choreography, so you are exercising the body and the mind at the same time. Choreography links movements together to create a routine that includes formation changes and attitudes. Performance is not required to be a member of the Village Dancers - however, we do have opportunities to collaborate with all the other clubs within The Village Music Society. For example, The Village Dancers have collaborated with the Villages Voices to add dance to a few of the songs. There is an annual $20 membership fee to support the Village Dancers. Donations are also welcomed.
The Village Dancers meet each Monday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Cribari Center Auditorium.
